An AI-powered application to help users maximize their resume potential in seconds.
Crafting a strong resume is crucial for job seekers, but it can be time consuming and challenging to know how to improve it effectively. Especially with all the ATS requirements and the need to tailor resumes for different job applications, it can be overwhelming for users to optimize their resumes and create compelling cover letters quickly.
Knowing how Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) work and ensuring the AI provides suggestions that help resumes pass these systems was a significant challenge. Research and prompt engineering were required to achieve this.
I chose AI models that balance performance, accuracy, and cost. Extensive testing and evaluation were conducted to select the most suitable model for the application's needs.
The application was deployed and has been used by friends in my university to give insights on their resumes, and the feedback has been positive so far. The project gave valuable experience in AI integration, data analysis, and building user-centric applications. The source code is available on GitHub for anyone interested in exploring or contributing to the project.

I realized I have an AI API key lying around and I've been thinking about applications that could leverage AI to provide real value to users. There are a few resume analyzer applications out there that I have used, but I'm really interested in how it actually works. I suspect it's simpler than it sounds, so I want to have a go at it.
Right off the bat, I already see how the architecture of this project would look like:
Looking ahead, I presume the main challenge would be making sure the resume passes the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). From what I've read, many companies use ATS to filter resumes before a human even sees them. So making sure the resume is optimized for ATS would be crucial. I'll have to do some research on how ATS systems work and what they look for in resumes.
That's all I had in mind for today, I'll continue working on this in my free time. Also, it felt like January flew by really quickly.. just me?
